It’s that day of the week again… Wedding Wednesday! Today I’m giving you a look into our reception, which took place at The Murphy Auditorium.
For our reception we opted to have the same tall flower arrangements on every table, rather than a mixture of different heights. Kloeckner’s was our florist, and they did a great job, along with Paramount Events, to make our tables look beautiful! We also found these amazing table numbers on Etsy.
Our cake came from Sugar Hills Bakery, and was inspired by our ivory motif, as well as my pearl earrings. I can’t get over those flowers! It’s so crazy to me all the things they can make from fondent.
It quickly became clear that buying chargers was more cost effective than renting them, so we got our coupons together and headed to World Market. Another money saving trick was that Peter and I embossed each menu by hand with our monogram that I designed and had printed on custom stamps.
When we started planning the wedding lighting companies weren’t even on our radar, however multiple people told us lighting would be one of the most important design elements of our reception. After all, without some “pin spotting” the beautiful flower arrangements would be hidden in the dark. We worked with the wonderful people at Frost here in Chicago, and they really brought the room to life!
While we didn’t want our wedding to be too “Christmas-y” this custom cocktail that Paramount created for us was the perfect touch.
Another great cake shot!
Instead of a traditional guest book, we had our guests circle meaningful words and leave notes in this beautiful gold, leather bound dictionary from Jayson Home. Today, it looks beautiful sitting out in our home.
