Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. She is a very petite girl, but you wouldn’t know it in this dress! Nude looks great with her skin, and the sheer overlay and beading combined with the unexpected hemlines make this dress feel at once both current and timeless.
Claire Danes in Versace. This is Versace at its finest! The bold color and the curve hugging shape give this new mom a winning look. The hair and the smokey eye work great, rounding out the sleek and sexy ensemble.
Julianne Moore in custom Tom Ford. She asked, and she RECEIVED. This dress is gorgeous! We love pretty much anything black and white, but the impeccable level of structure and tailoring takes this dress to a completely different level. The gold accessories and sleek up-do add to the timeless glamour.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture. This color is gorgeous! The dress is stunning and completely age-appropriate. It’s sophisticated, but playful and even bordering on editorial in the neckline. And we love the metallic belt! It really flatters the shape of both her AND the dress.
Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen. This is one sleek and sexy number! She really understands her body, and it shows as the plunging neckline reveals just enough amidst all of that black and gold. We love that she opted for the “bedroom hair” as well, playing up the sensual drama of the gown.
Naomi Watts in Zac Posen. Stunning! The deep red color is spot-on and screams sophisticated glamour. The cutout back balances beautifully with the sleeves, high neckline, and tailored train.
Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood Couture. Another wine red stunner! This dress nearly stole the show from her multiple Globe-winning husband! She glows in this, and shows just how gorgeous being happy can make you. And those EARRINGS!
Anne Hathaway in Chanel. She came dressed to WIN it tonight! The structure of this gown flatters her beautiful frame. She rocks it, and the pop of red in the lip is just the right amount amidst the sea of shimmery white and her porcelain skin. A beautiful statuesque vision.
Bump watch: Rumors are swirling that there was a baby bump hidden under there. Will Anne’s Oscar acceptance speech include an announcement? Thoughts?
Sienna Miller in Erdem. Thought to be inspired by her role as Tippi Hedren, this dress is perfectly playful and just the right of unexpected for Sienna Miller! The level of detail in the dress is unreal, and it most certainly had to be even more gorgeous in person! Her makeup is spot-on in its simplicity, allowing the dress and her beautiful face to shine.
Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen. She is ageless human perfection! She looks incredible in this sleek and sexy stunner. The piping at the ribs accentuates and feminizes her figure, and the full shoulder and beading at the neck feel very fresh and current.
From the “haven’t we seen this before?” to the “we would like to never see this again”, our Worst Dressed offenders came out swinging, and missed. Jennifer, we understand that you have an incredible figure, now go put something on over that slip. Debra, please retire that gown. The skirt is dreadful, and it looks like you forgot your broomstick! Dear Julianne, Just because Ryan said it was pretty doesn’t mean it’s the right choice. By the way, are you hiding him under there? It’s just too overwhelming for her tiny frame. And Taylor, from the color to the neckline, that dress is straight out of a 1997 bridal party. See you at the Oscars!! [images]
