It’s pretty crazy to think that this was probably our last weekend before becoming parents, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it! Friday was Peter’s first day of paternity leave (totally awesome, right?) so we spent the day walking around town enjoying the nice weather. We decided to visit Maggie Daley Park, since neither of us had been yet and were blown away by how awesome it was! There are a couple climbing walls that are opening there soon, and will definitely be worth checking out this summer. Millennium Park was beautiful as usual, and we had tons of fun in the Art Institute’s gift shop without even venturing into the actual museum (it’s one of our absolute favorites, but definitely not where I wanted to risk my water breaking… can you imagine?). We stumbled upon (and immediately purchased) this book for the baby. Neither of us had ever seen it before, and we couldn’t stop laughing just flipping through it, it’s hilarious!
While we spent lots a great time together this weekend, it was also a nice chance to go out with friends before we head to babyland. Friday night we went to a college friend’s going away party, and Saturday night I celebrated one of my best girlfriend’s birthdays. We decided to check out Taus Authentic, which was perfect for our fun girls night out, but would also make a great date spot- definitely worth a visit!
On Sunday Peter worked on getting our patio garden started for the season, while I did a little “gardening” for a design client. When we couldn’t find the perfect centerpiece for the clients’ long rustic dining table I decided to go custom and create a long center piece full of succulents and candles. It ended up being a ton of fun to put together and turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I swear the succulents and moss look fake in these photos but they’re all real- Home Depot for the win! Hope everybody has a wonderful week!
