Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking over The Peninsula Chicago‘s Instagram account for EXPO Chicago‘s #artexpoweek, an incredible exhibition of Contemporary & Modern Art comprised of galleries from around the world, that takes place at Navy Pier. Aside from being one of my favorite spots in town, The Peninsula is also the official hotel partner for EXPO. We didn’t have to venture very far to see our first exhibit because The Peninsula is currently displaying an exclusive art exhibition with works created by impresario artist, architect and designer Gaetano Pesce. Curated by Salon 94 Design, the exhibition entitled, “What it is to be Human”, in the lobby of the hotel. The exhibit title explains how Gaetano’s art connects with humanity, showcasing joy in each piece. After we explored Pesce’s exhibit at the hotel, Peter and I headed to Navy Pier to see the rest of the 6th annual EXPO Chicago exhibition, which was incredible and something I will now look forward to every year.
After a few hours exploring EXPO Chicago we returned to The Peninsula to discover that Connor and baby Rowan had made themselves right at home thanks to a friendly staff and darling treats that had been delivered to the room. We enjoyed dinner in The Lobby with both boys, and it was the perfect mix of gourmet evening out and a cozy night with the kids. The food was delicious, the service was amazing, and the kids were welcomed and entertained with coloring books, crayons, stickers and a kids menu. We were amazed by how luxurious, yet unpretentious and friendly everything was. After having another delicious meal delivered to our room for breakfast Connor decided he would like to move in. Who could blame him?
