Filling a large empty wall on a twenty-something budget can be difficult and intimidating! Amelia knew that a large scale piece of art was not in the budget, already had a gallery wall in the adjacent living room, and a large mirror on the adjoining wall. Enter the plate wall idea!
While we love plate walls comprised of mismatched vintage plates and other unique finds, we didn’t have anything of the sort at our disposal. Instead, we headed to Ikea and chose to create a more sleek and geometric look with these incredibly inexpensive dessert plates.
By applying easy to use adhesive discs from the Container Store (aka… heaven) and lining up nails on the wall, our project was completed in no time! Also, just an FYI- should you decide to use Great Grandmother’s fine heirloom china… the adhesive discs come right off with soap/water, leaving the dishes perfectly unscathed.
We love our sleek design on a dime plate wall, but couldn’t help sharing some other great plate displays we found online, below. Follow us on Pinterest and check out more great plate walls on our “plate wall” board.
Such a cool idea! And those adhesive disk are genius!

Totally agree that the Container = heaven. And I love the plate walls! Especially the one with the blue plates grouped together (and yours is lovely too, Amelia). Feeling inspired…
Haha, Thaaaaaanks Kyla! (love a familiar comment…)
